Atlanta, Days 1 and 2

Well, it's Thursday, April 12th, and I've been in Atlanta for a whole day. Almost. Time lapse is confusing... Anyway, I should say a bit about who I am. I'm Davis, on the marketing team, and I decided I'd write this blog as a way to give a "first-person" account of the competition in Atlanta. I woke up at 2 in the morning, got to school at 3:15, and got to PDX by 4 AM. We got on the plane (my first trip!) and sat for 6 hours while we flew 40,000 feet over the earth's surface. That was a pretty awesome experiance. We checked into our hotel, and uncrated our robot. After that, we had dinner and watched a movie. Pretty tame first day, but the second blows it apart. This event is HUGE!!! There are 4 regions (we're in Curie), but even one of those is immense! There are about 100-ish teams in each region, from the USA, Canada, Brazil, the middle east, everywhere! And they all have robots... I can't really adiquitely describe it. Anyway, today is just practice rounds, so there's not much going on in the way of competition, but there are scouts everywhere, and we're putting our bot back together piece by piece. I'm actually using a computer that belongs to Autodesk, so I'm going to wrap this up, but I'll update daily here!
